The Dangelos envisioned the Sapphire Creek concept back in 2016 when they were mulling over how to best use the 15 wooded acres they owned off of Washington Street, just outside of Chagrin Falls. “No matter when you come, the food is great,” promised co-owner Kathleen Dangelo, who added that everyone leaves Sapphire Creek with a smile, whether they come for a special event like Lobsters on the Lawn, Sunday brunch or dinner. Lobsters on the Lawn, a feast at communal tables, is set for Aug. The experience includes hors d’oeuvres, a cocktail and tax, and only a few reservations remain at $180 per person.

The fun begins with cocktails and canapes at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. It will be accompanied by kielbasa, chowder and pork rinds, corn on the cob, twice-baked potatoes, watermelon and New York-style cheesecake. 4.Įxecutive Chef Rick Bennett has put together a feast framed around a 1-½ pound whole lobster per person. The seamless incorporation of indoor and outdoor spaces at California’s Napa Valley wineries was the inspiration for Kathleen and Andy Dangelo when they created what was to become their Sapphire Creek Winery back in 2018.
